Everything began in 53 B.C. in Mesopotamia. Centuries ago, the wind from the East accompanied the caravans, with people and cultures to the West. The secrets of the East transformed into trade, which started the journeys on the Silk Route. Cities, taverns, and caravanserais were built on this 8000 km long route to provide shelter.
As it left a heritage all over its route from West to East and East to West, the world' s oldest known trade route also gave a strong legacy to Anatolia. One of the most important stops of Silk Route travels, the city of Gaziantep, hosts Sirehan; a caravanserai, which has been witness to journeys for centuries and now re-opens its doors as a Boutique Hotel.
